KGM were appointed as the roofing and cladding contractor for this prestigious new teaching building at the College of West Anglia’s Kings Lynn Campus constructed by Lindum.
The two storey, 2,000 square metre building has been designed to house full and part-time higher level education and training. The high quality teaching and learning facility incorporates 14 digital classrooms, a 120 seat multi-media lecture theatre, social space, IT rooms, a suite of meeting rooms and open plan post graduate areas. The fully glazed atrium houses an impressive reception area as well as a hub for conferences and exhibitions. The lecture theatre is a stunning rain screen clad section of the building which projects out of the curtain walling.
This building achieved the BREEAM 'Excellent' rating by having a 'super insulated' envelope, using low carbon technology and a complex BMS system to monitor and adjust water and heat requirements.
For the roof we used Fatra single ply fully adhered insulated roof system and we installed AKV secret fix rainscreen wall system.
