A prominent part of Siemens’ Lincoln Waterside site was converted from heavy industrial operations into a high spec office facility by Lindum.
The new roof line required by the architect and end user was not without its challenges. The original specification proved unsuitable on such a large scale so our specialist team was able to propose a workable alternative which still achieved the design requirements.
Steelwork stubs were required for framing and, where these punched through the roof, particular attention to weather-proofing was required.
The facade was completely transformed with the addition of louvre blades, to conceal the existing gable roof line, and a modern walling/glazing system. The APL ‘half round’ wall cladding profile was perfectly aligned keeping the wall profile at a consistent and continuous level all around the building.
The final roof solution was complex and required excellent workmanship to ensure its suitability and weather-tightness and involved a composite roof with membrane lined guttering to complete the installation.
This major refurbishment project was a prestigious contract for KGM which allowed us to showcase our on-site technical ability, our excellent workmanship and our ability to work on a busy live site and achieve stunning end results.
