Project Description

A new Premier Inn built by Lindum Construction.

In order to meet Premier Inn’s ‘good night's sleep’ guarantee for all its customers the acoustic performance of the finished product was critical on this project, as a consequence the envelope elements were crucial in achieving the required standard.

Constructed using a timber frame structure with the exterior clad in brick along with rain screen and metal profiled sheet cladding installed to the walls and roof. A cost effective alternative to traditional copper and zinc standing seam roof systems was used, a new system for KGM but one which met the overall design specification.

The site itself was located within a very busy town centre which required careful logistical coordination and, due to the restricted access, a tower crane was used with all the associated oversailing issues being successfully managed.

Pitched Roof System: Tata Urban site assembled secret fix twin skin insulated roof system.

Flat Roof System: Fatra fully adhered PVC membrane insulated roof system.

Wall System: Tata Urban site assembled secret fix twin skin insulated wall system and Kingspan Evloution composite wall panel system.

The project achieved BREEAM Very Good.
