Gannets, Middlebeck

Project Description

KGM worked on the first phase of a huge 15-year project to create a new community in the Nottinghamshire town of Newark.

Working for fellow Lindum Group division Lindum Peterborough, we installed the roofing and cladding on a building which sits at the gateway to the new community, called Middlebeck.

The first floor is home to offices for master developer Urban&Civic, while the ground floor is home to a new café for established family firm, Gannets.

The Euroclad Vieo system installed consisted of a VieoZinc coated aluminium standing seam weathering sheets.

These had a 215mm thick RocSlab insulation board and 25mm thick RockSlab insulation board in cavity, formed by stainless steel sliding clips and galvanised steel support bar, on polyethylene vapour control layer.

This was all on 0.7mm thick White Enamel coated profiled galvanised steel lining panels to give a “U” value of 0.15 W/m²K The system installed came complete with a 25 year manufacturer’s backed guarantee.

Formally known as Land South of Newark, Middlebeck is a 694-acre urban extension on the southern edge of the town. Once complete, it will include a new primary school, a café, shops, significant green infrastructure including a waterside promenade, walkways and cycleways, and formal open space and sports pitches, as well as over 3,000 new homes.
